4 weeks into the new season, it’s starting to look like Morelia perhaps would have been better off being demoted. They just avoided it in the final game of last year but have been bad since, remaining winless and blowing their possible first win this year yesterday in a 2-1 loss at Queretaro. Angel Sepulveda gave Morelia an early second half lead with a 50th-minute goal, but blew the lead late when Queretaro got goals from Javier Guemez on a corner kick header in the 79th minute and Camilo Da Silva on a free kick 3 minutes later. The loss is Morelia’s first of the year after 3 straight ties and leaves them winless and really struggling, not helped by the fact that the defending goal scoring champion and Player of the Year, Raul Ruidiaz, has done nothing through 4 games. As for Queretaro, the Gallos Blancos have kept some of their SUPERCOPA MX victory momentum going with a winning record thus far and staying within a couple points of the league lead.
