Apertura 2017 Week 4 Results: Pumas 2, Lobos 0

It was another week of firsts for Lobos, but not the good kind-they finally fell from the ranks of the unbeatens, taking their first Liga MX loss today 2-0 at Pumas. The game was scoreless at halftime but then Nicolas Castillo once again took over for Pumas, scoring in the 48th minute on a half-bicycle kick that took one bounce and had enough on it that the goalie couldn’t get enough of a piece to keep it out of the net. Lobos tried to shut down Castillo but it backfired in a couple ways-first, just before the second half ended Jesus Aquino picked up his second of 2 Amarillas which meant a Rojas! HE GONE! That’s the first ejection for Lobos so far, then after that they tangled up Castillo in front of the Lobos net when he had the ball and that meant a PENAL! Although the ref gave the goalie the last of the Lobos Amarilas to him on the play, which didn’t seem right. Castillo scored for his second of the game to hand Lobos their first defeat and give Pumas some momentum going into next week’s Universitario Clasico at Tigres. Lobos will have a tough bounce-back test as they’ll welcome America.
