In a rematch of last year’s Apertura championship, Pachuca may have saved their tournament in a tough situation with a crucial 2-1 home win over Tigres. Angelo Sagal put the Tuzos ahead early with a 9th-minute goal, but allowed Tigres to tie it up in the 25th minute when they conceded a PENAL! to Andre-Pierre Gignac, who converted for his first goal of the year. Erick Gutierrez scored the game-winner in the 78th minute to give Pachuca its first win of the year and hand Tigres their first loss.
