A short time ago, Necaxa held a press conference to introduce their new head coach-former player and veteran coach Ignacio Ambriz. Ambriz, nicknamed “Nacho”, played 282 games over 10+ years for Necaxa, winning 2 titles in the 1990s before moving into coaching, where his resume includes being an assistant at the 2002 World Cup and a stint with top Spanish team Atletico Madrid before being named coach of America. He won the CONCACAF Champions League title in 2015-2016 before sitting out this past season in Liga MX following being replaced by Ricardo La Volpe. Ambriz is looking very forward to returning to his former team and helping them contend for titles.
