Clausura 2017 Round 17 Results: Tijuana 1, Veracruz 0

While their offense was completely shut down last night, Tijuana got just enough offense to lock up their 2nd straight regular season title at home with a 1-0 win over Veracruz. Luis Chavez scored the only goal on a direct shot in the 86th minute. With the win, Tijuana will be the #1 playoff seed for the second straight tournament, and will hope to have better luck than when they bombed out against Leon in the Apertura, although they’ll have another tough-looking draw in Morelia. Veracruz, meanwhile, finishes at the bottom of the ratio table but managed to avoid demotion this time thanks to having a better goal differential than Jaguares.
