Clausura 2017 Round 17 Results: Guadalajara 0, Necaxa 0

As has been the case every week for the last month-plus, Guadalajara had chances to solidify their position and even reclaim first place, but every time the Chivas came up short-once again that was the case last night, as they had a chance to lock up second place but could do absolutely nothing against Necaxa. The hosts couldn’t either as the game wound up a rather blank 0-0 tie. The tie would’ve eliminated Necaxa from playoff contention if they hadn’t been already (they had to win to have any chance), while Guadalajara stays 3rd for now. If Santos-Toluca isn’t a tie the Chivas will wind up 4th and play crosstown rival Atlas in the quarterfinals, otherwise if it is a tie they’ll stay 3rd and get Santos.
