Clausura 2017 Round 17 Results: Jaguares 1, Atlas 0

Usually a win is a cause for celebration, but in the case of Jaguares it was a bit muted. The good is they finished the season with a 1-0 win over Atlas. The bad is, because Morelia also won, it was the farewell for Jaguares as they have been officially demoted. Christian Bermudez scored the only goal in the 10th minute. Because of the loss, Atlas will fall from in the playoff positioning, but that may be good for them as they will avoid Tigres until at least the semifinals. Depending on what happens tomorrow, they will get either Guadalajara or Toluca first. As for Jaguares, their spot will be taken by the Ascemso MX Grand Champion. In the end they were done in by a colossal negative goal differential. They were tied with Veracruz for last, but Veracruz had a -39 goal differential to -49 for Jaguares.
