Clausura 2017 Round 16 Results: Guadalajara 1, Leon 1

Continuing a recent trend of the top teams seemingly not wanting to be in first place, Guadalajara again wasted an opportunity to take the top spot, as the Chivas were denied 3 points late by Leon in a 1-1 tie. There were no goals scored until the 78th minute, when Osvaldo Alanis converted a PENAL! to put Guadalajara ahead, but then it was the same old story-Mauro Boselli did it yet again, tying the game in the 83rd minute. But it may not be enough to save Leon’s late playoff push-they will need a win next week and a ton of help to sneak into 8th and make it. The tie finally gets Guadalajara’s playoff berth locked up but their final spot is anything but certain-they could finish 1st or as low as 7th.
