Clausura 2017 Round 16 Results: Tigres 3, Tijuana 0

Once again Tijuana had a chance to further solidify its first place standing and actually this time to lock it up, but a resurgent Tigres had other ideas, playing themselves into playoff position for now-and possibly into a playoff rematch with the visitors today-with a 2-0 win. Jesus Duenas got the Tigres scoring started in the 11th minute, then Lucas Zelarayan & Anselmo Junior put the game well out of reach with goals just before halftime. Yes, Anselmo Junior stopped racking up Amarillas long enough to get his first goal in over a year-he last scored in the Clausura 2016. Speaking of which, that was what was surprisingly missing from the game-cards. None at all. With the win, Tigres moves into the 8th playoff spot for now. Tijuana stays in 1st but could fall as low as 6th before it’s over.
