The final game of the day tightened up the playoff race yet again, as Necaxa played it’s way back into contention while also hurting Morelia’s standing in the demotion race with a 2-1 last-second win. Edson Puch put Necaxa up early with an 11th minute goal, but Morelia got even on a PENAL! by Rodolfo Vilchis in the 31st minute. But in the final moments of the game, Nicolas Maturana scored the game-winner to keep Necaxa’s playoff hopes alive. The loss also drops Morelia back into last in the demotion race for now, which is where they’ll stay if Veracruz wins tomorrow-a win would have all but secured their spot for next year.
