Clausura 2017 Round 15 Results: Monterrey 1, Tigres 0

There are now a lot of happy fans in parts of the league thanks to Monterrey, who helped set the Gran Fiesta plans in motion with a 1-0 win at home tonight over Tigres. Cesar Montes scored the only goal in the 56th minute, the highlight of a second half that, after a clean first half, featured SEVEN Amarillas-5 of those given to Tigres. The champs are still in playoff contention but this all but ends a chance of a rematch with Clausura defending champions Pachuca in the Campeon de Campeones or playoffs as they are one point apart in the battle for 8th. And because of the Tigres loss, Monterrey, Tijuana & Toluca all have now clinched playoff spots.
