Clausura 2017 Round 15 Results: Cruz Azul 2, Guadalajara 1

It suddenly seems like either nobody wants to clinch a playoff berth or Cruz Azul is playing spoiler, or both. That was on display again today as the hosts pulled off a 2-1 upset win over visiting Guadalajara. Angel Mena scored the first goal on a PENAL! in the 20th minute, then Miguel Ponce put the Chivas own a man by drawing a Rojas! HE GONE! In the second half, Francisco Silva put Cruz Azul up 2 with a 51st minute score, and while Oswaldo Alanis got a goal for Guadalajara in the 90th minute, it wasn’t enough. Cruz Azul is now only 3 points out of the playoffs while the Chivas miss a chance to possibly lock up a playoff berth.
