Clausura 2017 Round 14 Results: Puebla 2, Cruz Azul 1

In the final game of the weekend, which had very little playoff picture implications, last-place Puebla managed to keep its’ ultra-slim hopes alive with a last-minute 2-1 win over Cruz Azul. Cruz Azul took the lead just 4 minutes in on a Rafael Baca header, but Julio Dominguez blew the lead with an OWN GOAL in the 56th minute! Then with only about a minute left in extra time, Cristian Esparza scored Puebla’s only self-scored goal to give the home team a rare win. The win also gets Puebla to one point away from having a chance to get out of last place, while Cruz Azul also is all but done playoff chance-wise.
