Clausura 2017 Round 10 Results: Veracruz 3, Puebla 2

With a chance to gain critical points in both the standings & demotion race, Veracruz managed to pull out another big win when it needed it most, holding off last-place Puebla 3-2 at home. Angel Reyna & Daniel Villalva scored just before halftime to give Veracruz a 2-0 lead going into the second half, but Puebla pulled even on scores from Pedro Canelo & Carlos Gutierrez in the 53rd & 64th minutes, but Villalva scored his 2nd of the game in the 66th minute to give Veracruz the lead for good. The win keeps Veracruz alive in the playoff race and also keeps them within a couple points of Jaguares & Morelia in the race to avoid demotion, while the loss all but eliminates Puebla from playoff contention-even if they won out now the best they could do is 4th but they are also 8 points out of 8th with only 4 games left.
