The final game of the weekend saw the playoff standings tighten near the bottom, and something we hardly see-Pachuca on a losing streak. The Tuzos continue to have offensive woes that aren’t helping their defense, and it showed again in a 1-0 loss at Santos. Jorge Tavares scored the only goal in the 39th minute. And in another example of his maybe playing his way out of Pachuca-and a lucrative overseas deal-Hirving Lozano extended his scoreless drought to 11 games, but did score on a hard tackle from behind on a Santos player with the ball and a quick point-after kick of the ball to the inside thigh-scoring a Rojas! HE GONE! Talk about boom to BUST exemplified.
The game also was paused twice for hydration breaks due to the temperatures reaching into the triple digits twice-in the 23rd minute (temps reached 34 degrees celsius) and in the 70th minute (30 degrees).
