Clausura 2017 Round 13 Results: Cruz Azul 1, Morelia 1

So close, and yet…there. In a game that very well may have saved their spot in the top tier beyond this year, Morelia used some late heroics to rally on the road for a 1-1 tie at Cruz Azul. Jorge Benitez put the home team ahead in the 29th minute with a score, and then Morelia got farther behind when in the 79th minute, Gabriel Achiller got tangled up with a Cruz Azul player going for the ball-the other player lost his footing and tripped on the ball but Achiller lost his composure and made what looked like aggressive an careless contact with the player and got himself a Rojas! HE GONE! That put Morelia one man down with 10 minutes left, but in the 86th minute Raul Ruidiaz possibly saved the season with some fancy footwork and a perfect shot to the corner of the net past the goalie to salvage the tie and an important point in the standings.
