Clausura 2017 Round 12 Results: Leon 1, Tigres 0

Two teams having a second half to forget met up last night in what has been a champs vs. chumps matchup based on the standings, but this time the chumps prevailed as last-place Leon got only its second win this half with a 1-0 blanking of the still-hapless Tigres. The only goal came on an Elias Hernandez breakaway score in the 66th minute. Despite getting coach Ricardo Ferretti back from a 2-game suspension it didn’t provide a spark to Tigres, who missed a chance to gain ground in the playoff picture and remain 4 points out for now. Leon remains in last place but for now is only a point from getting out of the cellar.
