The Disciplinary Commission today completed it’s investigation into Tijuana coach Miguel Herrera following events that took place during the Round 11 Tijuana-Santos game. The investigation arose from allegations Herrera insulted fans during/after the game. For violating Article 32 of the Sanctions/Regulations of the league, Herrera has been given the following penalties: 3 Game Suspension and an undisclosed fine. This is in addition to the 2 game suspension he got for being assessed 2 Rojas for insulting march referees and constantly protesting, meaning he is out a total of 5 games. That means he will be out until Round 16. Given they sit just 3 points ahead of the 4-way tie for the last 2 playoff spots this half and haven’t played too well without Herrera, this could potentially be a fatal blow to their chances.
