Clausura 2017 Round 11 Results: Necaxa 2, Jaguares 2

Necaxa’s second-half slump continued at home last night, although Jaguares actually helped them out a bit as what should’ve been a win for the visitors wound up being a 2-2 tie. After getting one of his team’s Amarillas a few minutes before, Edson Puch redeemed himself with a 22nd-minute header for his third goal this half. Jaguares took the lead early in the 2nd half with 2 unanswered goals from Luis Leal in the 53rd minute and Dieter Villalpando in the 57th, but blew it in the 77th minute when Felix Araujo headed a Necaxa cross pass deep in the defensive zone for an OWN GOAL! That would cost Jaguares 2 big points in the standings while salvaging a point for Necaxa. Jaguares could’ve have moved up to 6th for now with a win but instead they remain a point behind Atlas & Pumas on the outside. Necaxa now sits 4 points out of the playoff picture.
