Clausura 2017 Round 11 Results: Guadalajara 2, Veracruz 0

Not to be denied hours after losing the top spot on the leaderboard to Monterrey, Guadalajara regained and maintained the spot last night as the Chivas continued their winning ways with a 2-0 home blanking of now-hapless Veracruz. After a scoreless first half, the Chivas got second-half goals from Alan Pulido & Angel Zaldivar headers to take the victory-both Pulido & Zaldivar now have 4 goals this half. Veracruz, meanwhile, continues its freefall towards demotion-this was not only their 5th straight loss, but their 5th straight shutout loss. They haven’t even scored since their Round 5 win (also their last win) and all their offense has come in the first 5 games-that’s only 5 goals total.
