Clausura 2017 Round 9 Results: Pachuca 3, Tijuana 2

The second half of the tournament kicked off tonight and, for the first time all this second half of the year neither Tijuana or Toluca will be the leader, at least for a day. Pachuca took the top spot in the standings for the time being with a 3-2 win at Tijuana. The hosts scored first on a Damian Perez header in the 41st minute (the first career goal for the rookie), but the Tuzos responded with 3 unanswered 2nd half goals-Roberto Alvarado in the 50th minute (also his first Liga MX goal), Franco Jara in the 60th minute, & Jonathan Urretaviscaya in the 73rd minute. Milton Carraglio got Tijuana to within one goal with a second half extra time goal, but that came too late for a chance to tie. Besides the game Tijuana also lost Joe Corona for next week thanks to a 76th-minute Rojas! HE GONE! It came thanks to 2 Amarillas in the game, he got his first less than 4 minutes in. As for Pachuca, it’s worth noting that Hirving Lozano was subbed out only 15 minutes in, so worth watching to see any potential reasoning behind that.
