Clausura 2017 Round 6 Results: Monterrey 2, Pumas 0

Monterrey extended it’s tournament-opening unbeaten streak to 6 games today, picking up its second win with a 2-0 home shutout of Pumas. Both goals came late in the second half, with Dorlan Pabon scoring both 9 minutes apart. And he managed to be maybe one of the only players to get Amarillas to go along with his goals, the card coming after the first one. It appears to have been for excessive celebration, namely taking his jersey off after he scored. Thankfully only the top. Pabon actually may have had a hat trick is not for Jesus Gallardo taking him down in the 85th minute with a tackle from behind as Pabon was on a breakaway…Rojas! HE GONE! Surprisingly no objection from Gallardo or Pumas, he just ran right off to the locker room and a week’s (at least) vacation). But Pabon can take some solace in knowing he is now the league leader with 4 goals so far.
