Clausura 2017 Round 5 Results: Tijuana 4, Leon 2

The Tijuana offensive machine continued to power its way along yesterday, helping the league leaders keep their place at the top for another week with a 4-2 victory at Leon. Leon actually struck early, with Elias Hernandez putting the hosts up just 5 minutes in. But starting in the 30th minute it was all Tijuana, starting with Aviles Hurtado converting on a PENAL! in the 32nd minute, then just 8 minutes later…PENAL! Again! William Yarbrough gave Tijuana another free chance and Milton Caraglio converted to make it 2-1 Tijuana. Guido Rodriguez & Paul Arriola added second half goals to blow it open, and while Carlos Pena scored his second of the tournament for Leon in the 84th minute it was too little too late for the home team. Tijuana has now won 4 straight. One thing of note that may be hurting Leon-Mauro Boselli, one of the league’s top scorers, has yet to score this tournament. As for Tijuana, it’s been no Dayro Moreno, no problem-with their goals in this game, Hurtado & Caraglio now share the league lead in goals scored.
