Clausura 2017 Round 5 Results: Pumas 1, Pachuca 1

After Tijuana’s win yesterday, Pumas came into today’s home game looking for a win to keep pace at the top, but luck didn’t go their way near the end and they had to settle for a 1-1 tie vs. Pachuca. Dario Veron kicked in a slow roller past the Pachuca goalie at close range just before halftime to give Pumas the 1-0 lead, but in the 85th minute Oscar Murillo got a lucky deflection header on a free kick that the Pumas goalie couldn’t get enough of his outstretched hand on, salvaging the tie and a point for the visitors. Pachuca actually may have won 2-1 as they were awarded a PENAL! in the 67th minute but Franco Jara was denied by the Pumas goalie. Despite the tie Pumas still extends its current unbeaten streak to 4 games.
