Clausura 2017 Round 5 Results: Guadalajara 1, Santos 1

The final game of the weekend saw Santos trying to remain one of two unbeaten teams in the Clausura (Monterrey) and they succeeded, although they probably cost themselves 2 points by letting Guadalajara escape at home with a 1-1 tie. Not much happened in the first half, but the second half was a whole another story-Julio Furch started it all by heading in a corner kick in the 57th minute for his first of the year, then Santos slowly self-destructed. It started in the 75th minute when Eduardo Buen was given Rojas! HE GONE! That put Santos one man down the rest of the way. But not to be outdone was Jose de la Torre just 4 minutes later…Rojas! HE GONE! Santos was now TWO men down! And 5 minutes of second half stoppage time was too much for Santos as their win was spoiled by Rodolfo Pizarro a couple minutes into the extra time to earn a point for the Chivas. So Santos stays unbeaten but like Pumas earlier in the day really should’ve had more than a point to show for it. They almost certainly will be down 2 players for at least next week though due to the Rojas.
