Continuing to play with renewed vigor under new coach Pablo Marini in their efforts to avoid demotion after this tournament, Morelia took their shots today at home against Santos-lots of them-but didn’t get the results they hoped for, having to rally late and settle for a 1-1 tie. Despite Morelia having a massive edge in shots in the first half, Santos got the only goal in the 31st minute on a Nestor Araujo header. Morelia kept shooting away in the second half but it was a header of their own-courtesy of Emmanuel Loeschbor in the 71st minute-that produced the game-tying goal. Both sides collected a pair of Amarillas in the final 10+ minutes but it had no effect on the final result. The point helps both in the standings, but not Morelia as they lose ground in the ratio table thanks to Veracruz winning.
