It was a busy day off the pitch for Santos today, as they announced two transfers involving goalkeepers. First up, the club has said farewell to Agustin Marchesin, as the former champion goalkeeper and Golden Ball 2016 Liga MX recipient has been sent to America. Marchesin helped lead Santos to the Clausura 2015 Tournament championship and Campeon de Campeones. In a coeesponding move, Santos acquired goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco from Monterrey as a potential replacement. Orozco, who was the starter for Rayados the last 9 years, won the 2009 and 2010 Apertura Tournament Championships and 3 straight CONCACAF Champions League titles (2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13) with Monterrey and also played with the Mexican national team for 3 Gold Cups and during qualifying for the 2014 World Cup. It is hoped he will be able to lead the green & white back to significant achievements after a down tournament for the verdiblancas.
