Necaxa Appeals Puch Ejection

The Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Soccer Federation announced today that it has received a solicitation of inconformity notice from Necaxa regarding the ejection of Edson Puch from yesterday’s game. Basically Necaxa is appealing the ejection and automatic 1-game minimum suspension that comes with a red card, claiming the referee erred in his decision to eject Puch.

The final decision likely will come out with the weekly Disciplinary Report later today or tomorrow. If the ejection is upheld Puch will miss at least the first half of Necaxa’s Quarterfinals matchup against Pachuca, with worst case being him getting more than a game and thus missing the entire matchup and possibly the whole playoffs.
